People struggling with gluten intolerance or a gluten allergy often suffer for years before discovering the source of their bloated gut, hair loss, diarrhea, fatigue and a long list of other symptoms. Many times doctors do not detect this problem. For me I found my problem myself. I suffered for almost three decades undiagnosed.
Thanksgiving last year I got to the point I knew I had to find relief because my irritable bowel syndrome symptoms had escalated and my entire body ached so bad it was difficult to work, and concentrate. Quite by accident while doing research for a Social Media client I came across information about gluten-intolerance and I had every single symptom but one, and that was because I had a hysterectomy in my late 20's. After Thanksgiving I went to work at removing gluten from my diet. Without gluten the diarrhea that I frequently suffered from had all but disappeared unless I would eat something with gluten. Migraines headaches that plagued me since my teen years multiple times a week are now very infrequent. I am still working on getting my body healthy, and learning new things every day.
I have learned that many chronic diseases that millions of people suffer from actually are a result of a sensitivity to gluten. If you suffer from fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, chronic pain, allergies, asthma, and many other chronic diseases that are escaping me as I write this may be a result of an intolerance to gluten. It is definitely worth a try to eliminate gluten from your diet for a period of time and see how you feel. The wheat we are eating is not the same wheat that our grandparents ate. It has been manipulated and re-engineered a process that is beyond my comprehension. I decided not to research that part of the puzzle, knowing that is enough I don't need to understand it, at least at this point.
Many people that are tested for gluten sensitivity will test false negative so the most accurate way to determine if you have an intolerance to gluten is to eliminate it from your diet and see how you feel. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's really not that difficult especially if you are feeling bad, change your diet and notice every day you are feeling better and better.
A gluten-free diet does not have to be difficult, and it can include a variety of foods that will keep dieters from feeling deprived. By taking the time to follow a few simple guidelines, you will find the process relatively simple.
